Partly cloudy becoming overcast, temps rising from the mid 20s to near 40 before cooling off again. SG training day. Hill is challenging—they used to run world cup GS here—so the set was pretty swingy, close to minimum distances.

Day 1 on the new Dobermann SGs. Started with a controlled freeski of the hill and though I felt I was doing good things, I didn't have a great feel, and the skis didn't seem to want to come around. First run … feeling confirmed. Just awful feeling, like I couldn’t carve anything to save my life.

Lots of others were switching to GS skis, so I tried it too. Better in spots, but speeds pretty high and the skis are pretty reactive. Same for the 3rd run, but this time the light went out. Just … disappointed in my inability to dive down the hill and pull radius.

Oh well. Let’s see if this incoming storm holds off enough for us to run some races tomorrow.
