Copper Mountain, Colorado

Kim and I started out maybe not in the best of moods - me because of my boots, and Kim because of ridiculous traffic. But we decided to have fun, and we did. We traversed skier's left of the Mountain Chief lift and found some variable, but partly very nice, snow. We hiked the Union Peak West Ridge and skied off a cornice that certainly gave me pause, down into great snow. We took the Tucker cat and hiked out to Fremont Glades, where again the top was scoured, but we found some nice soft snow further down. We finished off the day in trees, where my problems with my boots became more pronounced and I just kind of wanted to be done. I'm really proud of myself for the hiking and for skiing challenging terrain despite my boots feeling sloppy, which is pretty scary.
